Highlights from Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze on today’s SEC teleconference. …
Opening comments
Coming off a very disappointing loss. We didn’t find a way to finish the game. The positive is that our kids are competing in games now, and hopefully we can find a way to win one very soon. I’ve been pleased with the attitude they’ve come back to work with. I know coach Chizik will have his team ready. Their backs are somewhat against the wall, as is ours.
What has process been like in changing culture?
We are not through the process yet. I do think we’ve made great strides in the right direction. It started with understanding personal accountability and the little things. For the most part, our team is just starting to understand that, and it’s starting to show on the field. We try to keep our focus on that and not so much the results.
On Auburn Qbs
You prepare for what you’ve seen on film. They’ve done quite a few different things. You’re not quite sure which quarterback they’re going with. We’ve prepared for a little bit of all of it.
On Auburn’s OL
We’re young also, as they are. Some games we tend to play better than others. It’s hard for me as young and undersized in the DL as we are to say it would be a distinct advantage. It certainly has been one that they’ve had their struggles with. Hopefully we can play our best game up front, and that could be an advantage for us.
Excitement level of program
Losing the way we did last Saturday was disappointing to everyone, but after a couple of days for everyone to get past that, I think the excitement … our kids competing, having shots to win games, I think the level of excitement is very high.
