Here’s the opening statement at SEC Basketball Media Day from Brett Frank, who was named acting head coach for the Ole Miss women Wednesday:
“This has been an extremely difficult situation for our players and those around our program, and Ross has shown tremendous compassion and strength. I am also grateful for the confidence he has expressed in me to lead this program. It’s a challenge for which I will give everything that I have, because these kids deserve it.
“We are all in this business for the student-athletes, and this past week has been probably the most emotional of their lives. We are going to do everything in our power to help them put this behind them and focus on being student-athletes, on going to class, on playing basketball, on living their lives as college students. We hope to make it a great year for these players and a great year for Ole Miss.”
