1.Keep up with Jones
Georgia doesn’t get pressure from a vast array of sources on defense, ranking 10th in the league with 2 sacks a game. But linebacker Jarvis Jones brings it, getting 1.42 of those sacks on average, making him the SEC’s sack leader.
Jones had a monster game against Florida with 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a career-high 13 tackles, 12 of them solos.
2.A great game from Scott
Ole Miss running back Jeff Scott had posted back-to-back 100-yard games before Arkansas held him to 2.4 yards per carry, 50 yards total.
Scott contributed in other ways, his biggest play being big gain on a crossing pattern as the “hot route” option on the game-winning drive.
In order to pull an upset the Rebels will need to be more consistent on offense than they were against Arkansas.
Georgia has been susceptible to the run, giving up 156.2 yards a game, 10th in the league.
3.Mix it up against Murray
The Rebels had success disguising coverage against Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson, leading to a sub-par outing by the Razorbacks’ senior.
Wilson completed 55.8 percent for the game, less than his average, but more importantly, far less than the top drop-back passers had completed against Ole Miss in earlier games.
Texas’ David Ash completed 82.6 percent, Alabama’s A.J. McCarron 73.3 percent.
Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray is completing 63.6 percent of his 223 pass attempts and ranks second in the SEC with a pass efficiency rating of 160.3.
