Murphy Holloway talks about his game against McNeese State, a 76-50 Ole Miss win last night. He was dominant in the second half when he played 13 minutes.
Holloway was 7-for-7 from the floor and finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. Reggie Buckner was 6-for-6 from the floor, many of his the “high-percentage” shots, some of them set up from Holloway, who also had two assists and three steals.
Buckner had a lot of success going to his left against the smaller McNeese frontcourt. SEC teams know that the left is Holloway’s strong side. I remember now former South Carolina coach Darrin Horn yelling to his players, “He’s going left, he’s going left.”
Getting to the rim will become more difficult for Holloway when SEC play begins, but I suspect he’ll find a way to get there.
