White talks about loss of teammates

Ole Miss sophomore guard LaDarius White who showed up for interviews this afternoon. White has always struck me as a down-home, country boy. I mean that as a compliment. In the video below he talks about the loss of teammates Aaron Jones and Nick Williams to injury and how he came to be called Snoop.

Here is the audio from Andy Kennedy’s presser.

Some highlights:

- It’s possible Nick Williams could be back for Wednesday’s home game against Mississippi State, or it’s possible Williams could miss three weeks. It will be a pain tolerance thing with his foot injury.

- Freshmen Anthony Perez and Terry Brutus — Brutus has already been playing a few minutes lately — are the first guys in line to help out when Reggie Buckner and Murphy Holloway need to come out of the game, but Kennedy will try to get as many minutes as possible out of his two seniors.

- Kennedy was not too keen on the idea of LaDarious White at the 4, even though he’s a bigger guy on the wing.

- White, in the video below, talks about where the additional scoring will have to come from. It will be a team thing, he says, not something he’ll try to provide himself. Without Jones and Williams the Rebels are losing about 14 points a game. In his last two games, White had 17 against Auburn, 22 against Kentucky.
