Whether Nick Williams will be back for the Rebels Wednesday night against rival Mississippi State remains to be seen, but Williams got some good news today when he got his hard fast removed from the injured foot.
“He got a good report this morning. He went and had his cast removed. The procedure was performed, and the results have been good. He’s now out of the cast. He’s beginning extensive rehab as we speak, and we’ll see how quickly he responds,” Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said.
Kennedy had previously said it was possible that Williams could play against MSU, saying it will be a “pain tolerance” thing.
Williams is averaging about 10 points a game. He’s had some big minutes for Ole Miss this season, hitting shots with his mid-range game when offense has been lagging and hitting big 3-pointers at critical times.
