Hidden Gems

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze called Eupora wide receiver Derrick Jones one of the “hidden gems” in the Rebels’ recruiting class.

Getting a shout out like that from the head coach makes Jones not so hidden any more, but he may still serve the purpose of this discussion.

With so much attention on the nationally ranked recruits like Robert Nkemdiche, Laquon Treadwell, Laremy Tunsil and others, there are a number in the class who are flying under the radar.

The Hidden Gems can often make a program.

So, who is your choice for the most productive player among the under-the-radar guys? Who will be the surprise on the field?

A. Derrick Jones

B. Herbert Moore

C. Trey Bledsoe

D. Ray Ray Smith

E. David Kamara

F. Other

What’s this about “outsourcing” the compliance department? This could be a way of cloking the evidence. WOW!

You really are one funny sad little lying boy. Thanks for the laugh BD

Parrish, I think Herbert Moore will be a stand out. But then all those guys listed are very good and any of them could make a big impact as I see it. Coach Freeze has and his staff have a way of getting the best out of each player. The number one player we got, I can’t get that name, brother was set on the bench by Coach Nutt. Look what our Ole Miss Coaches did with him and many other players.

What will happen when the dude writing the checks, dies, loses interest or runs out of capital and the tap is turned off? You must admit that this is all just a little too much. Too many rumors. Too many deleted photos. Too much leaked information. Too much “knock this battery off my shoulder” moments from the head coach. Very interesting days to come. I expect an anouncement from the NCAA by spring.

You mean on the recruiting violations for which MSU is ALREADY under investigation?

  • matchbox20

I think I saw a post the other day saying that if there are any the recruiting improprieties the NCAA will investigate. That’s true. I constantly see one who is so hell bent on doing their job, he lives, breathes and eats Ole Miss. That is bad, almost psychotic, when one is consumed like that. Yet, this world have a few who get wrapped up in their bizarre behavior because they crave attention and eventually do the unimaginable.

So, BD says that the only way Ole Miss can recruit a class like this is to cheat. What he doesn’t understand is that he is saying that for MSU to have that kind of recruiting class they too would have to cheat. I’m loosely quoting a MS reporter from a story I read somewhere, but that is so true. Turfguy or BD, did yo momma have any kids that lived?
