Ole Miss football made major strides on offense in 2012, and this piece from Rant Sports believes the signing class will help the Rebels take another big step forward.

I’m not sure about Dodson and Brazley at receiver. Someone is going to redshirt somewhere.

Andy Kennedy said he had nothing new to report on the status of Reggie Buckner Sunday afternoon. That may change as early as this morning for Kennedy’s regularly schedule time on the SEC teleconference.

Ole Miss baseball coach Mike Bianco meets the media at noon today for his regular preseason presser. The Rebels open the baseball season Sunday at home against TCU. There’s a lot of familiarity between the Rebels and Horned Frogs. They opened the season by splitting two games in Fort Worth last year, then TCU won two of three meetings — the last two to clinch a super regional berth — in the College Station Regional last June.

Not long ago Ole Miss’ visit to Florida was considered the SEC basketball showdown. That’s changed now as Kentucky visits Gainesville, writes John Clay of the Lexington Herald-Leader. …

The Rebels are back on the SEC road Wednesday at Texas A&M then are at home against Georgia later in the week. Georgia and A&M played Saturday in Athens with improving Georgia winning its fifth-straight SEC game. …

Kevin Scarbinsky of The Birmingham News says that Signing Day points to another Nick Saban-Urban Meyer showdown. …

The Ole Miss-Missouri game wasn’t the only SEC matchup where venue made a tremendous difference. After Arkansas slapped around Florida earlier in the week, the Hogs were dominated at Vanderbilt. …
