Tuesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

A little later than usual, but still morning.

Good stuff from SI.com’s Andy Staples here as he re-ranks the 2010 recruiting classes based on production. Highly rated signees aren’t aways a guaranteed success but are a “fair predictor.” A lot of folks are predicting early playing time and big success for OL Laremy Tunsil. And speaking of recruiting, no coach ever signs a bad class. Read the comments from these guys after signing day. …

All is not well in Tuscaloosa as four Alabama football players have had a run-in with the law. Three were charged with second-degree robbery, a fourth with fraudulent use of a credit/debit card. Details continue to emerge on the arrests. …

SEC baseball coaches have picked Vanderbilt to win the East, Arkansas the West and Arkansas to win the overall crown. Ole Miss is picked fourth in the West, although the way the voting broke down there doesn’t appear to be much difference in the coaches’ minds between No. 3 Mississippi State, No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 5 Texas A&M.

The charges would have been 1st degree felonies had they not been Bama football players. My cousin is a cop over there and he said that someone from the school tried to make this go away by paying restitution and a little extra $$$ to not press charges, but the young man whom they robbed wouldn’t back down on the charges. So, the Lt. told them to “try not to charge them with felonies.” Every news man in the country should be on this. Ask some hard questions, the SEC and NCAA never will.

IN RE: SEC baseball coaches, I disagree with it, I Rate Ole Miss higher than #4 SEC West, I would rate them #1, Texas A&M #2,Miss State #3 and the remainder also ran, with LSU leading the pack. SEC East #1 Vandy, #2 Gators, #3 So. Carolina, #4 Kentucky and the field of also ran.n Thr REbels will surprise many this season, THey have very good pitching, ans fast. I believe they will bring out some long balls too. JB
