Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

Andy Kennedy and Frank Martin coached together at South Carolina, and they’ll coach against one another tomorrow night in Columbia, S.C.

Here’s what Martin had to say about the effort of his first South Carolina team after an 18-point loss at home to LSU recently. The Gamecocks followed that up with a 68-58 loss at Alabama on Saturday.

Here’s more on Martin, who was lured away from Kansas State for a $2 million salary, after the Alabama game.

By winning close games Alabama has moved ahead of Ole Miss and into sole possession of second place in the SEC.

From Birmingham, sizing up Alabama’s NCAA resume as the Rebels struggled prior to Saturday’s overtime win against Georgia. The Ole Miss-Alabama game looms large — in Oxford — in a couple of weeks provided the Rebels take care of business against South Carolina (road), Auburn (home), Texas A&M (home) and MSU (road) before then.
