The baseball Rebels go for the sweep against Rhode Island at 1:30 today following yesterday’s dramatic walk-off win as backup catcher Austin Knight singled with two outs in the ninth.
It’s the second time this season Ole Miss has won 1-0. The losses of production from last year’s offense have been well-publicized. In a 6-0 start the Rebels have scored five runs or fewer four times and go into today’s game having scored one run in the last 15 innings against Rhode Island. All eight runs in their 8-1 win on Friday came in the first three innings.
It would be a good to have a nice offensive showing today to begin to build a little momentum before going on the road next weekend against Florida International.
The Rebels also have a tough mid-week opponent this week with Memphis coming to town Tuesday at 4.
Memphis has won twice against Missouri this weekend with a third game today.
