Texas A&M visits Ole Miss tonight at 8 on CSS television. AD Eric Hyman says the Aggies are committed to competing in the SEC, though in speaking at a local meeting in Bryan-College Station he was speaking more about football than basketball. Fans will share in that sacrifice with the increased cost of football season tickets that will help pay for – among other things – the increased salaries of coach Kevin Sumlin and his staff. Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork, Freeze and other athletics officials will meet the public in April on the Rebel Road Trip. …
Last night in SEC basketball Tennessee won its sixth straight game, knocking off No. 8 Florida, the SEC leader, 64-58 in Knoxville. The win helps the Ole Miss RPI, as the Rebels have two wins over Tennessee, but it’s really just about the wins for Ole Miss right now and whether the Rebels can get enough of those. The RPI is what it is, and there aren’t any huge RPI opportunities left in the regular season. The Ole Miss RPI is 57 going into tonight’s game. …
More on the Ole Miss baseball team’s first loss of the season, a 4-3 decision against Memphis in which the Rebels committed six errors including a bad throw that led to the winning run. Three of Memphis’ four runs were unearned. This from WREG. …
