The 2012 football season brought a mix of really good and really bad football in the SEC, not much by way of middle of the pack teams. There were big seasons by Alabama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and also coaching changes at multiple schools.
So for 2013 you have some coaches riding momentum, others getting a fresh start in a new location. At Missouri, Gary Pinkel will be trying to bounce back.
Based on division placement — Missouri in the East and Texas A&M in the West — but also returning experience at quarterback many of us thought Missouri would have the better record of the two newcomers in 2012. Obviously that wasn’t the case. Details were finalized recently for the new contract for Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, who has passed the $3 million mark. …

It’s been a different look for the Rebels in a slide that has them trending outside the NCAA tournament again and has brought Andy Kennedy’s future into question. In case you missed it, here’s this week’s Baseball America top 25. The Rebels moved up a notch to No. 7 and will be at home today at 5 and tomorrow morning at 11 against Southeastern Louisiana. Ole Miss has swept each of its weekend foes, beginning with TCU. After leaving Oxford, TCU, ranked No. 14 in the preseason, was swept at home by Cal-State Fullerton.
