Attacking the up-tempo

A good read here from Mr.SEC.com with comments from new Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was offensive coordinator at Texas A&M last season.

Alabama coach Nick Saban and Arkansas coach Bret Bielema, formerly of Wisconsin, have said changes need to be made to slow down the up-tempo offense. It’s the style Hugh Freeze is so fond of, the one that helped him go 7-6 with Ole Miss last year in his first season when few thought that was possible.

Kingsbury balks at the idea that player safety is the primary motivation in this discussion.

Good for Coach Kingsbury, Could it be Alabama and Arkansas coaches are now starting to feel the pressure coming from teams as Ole Miss, Tex A&M, Gators and Georgia.
