Freeze upbeat after Friday work

By Hayden Sowers

An upbeat Hugh Freeze was pleased with Friday morning’s workout saying, “It was good, very good.  Couldn’t have asked for better weather, and once they got going I thought they really competed.”

Ole Miss will hold a closed scrimmage in the morning and Freeze was asked how important it is for players vying for a role to play well in these scrimmages.

“I think that is the best test.  The coaches are off the field and they have to adjust to every call and every formation.”

Some of the battles to watch are at guard with Aaron Morris and Jared Duke, at Huskie with Antonio Conner and Mike Hilton, and along the defensive line at all positions, especially if Robert Nkemdiche and CJ Johnson continue to miss time.

RB coach Derrick Nix was asked about starting RB Jeff Scott’s camp, “Jeff has had an excellent camp so far.  He has been focused and paying attention to the details right now.”

Nix was also asked who the backup would be behind Scott, “Jaylen Walton has done a heck of a job.  He’s not been banged up and him and I’Tavious were neck-and-neck right before I’Tavious went down.  If I’Ttavious is ready to go for that first game I expect you’ll see a mixture of those two.”

Funny how some things never change. In Shakespeare ‘s play Julius Caesar, the ones Caesar trusted most turned on him. In 44 B.C. Caesar was betrayed by the senate, but Brutus, his closest confidant, had the last and most hurtful stab of all. That’s when Caesar exclaimed, “You too, Brutus”? Freeze may find himself in a very similar situation….soon.

Your pontifications are really funny….like a rodeo clown. LOL

You are in denial…..the other foot is about to drop. The moment Freeze sent that insipid tweet, the NCAA targeted Ole Miss. Now they won’t rest until they get Ole Miss…it’s not just me that’s aware of the transgressions that have been committed by Ole Miss.
