Texas’ starting quarterback, who was very efficient against Ole Miss last year, did not practice Tuesday. He’s listed as questionable and has not been ruled out for Saturday.
Ash sustained head and shoulder injuries in the Longhorns’ 40-21 loss at BYU.
I asked Ole Miss defensive coordinator Dave Wommack what made Ash so efficient against Ole Miss in 2012, and Wommack said, “We did.”
The Rebels’ 66-31 loss was one that stuck with the coaches and players. Wommack gave credit to Ash but also pointed out the poor placements and mistakes of a number of Ole Miss players during that game.
Ash was 19-for-23 in that game for 326 yards with four touchdowns and not interceptions.
