Spanning the globe on a Monday morning …

Arkansas visits Ole Miss Saturday for morning football, something the Rebels haven’t seen since the Compass Bowl. The Razorbacks are 0-5 in SEC play. Their 35-17 loss to Auburn was their closest margin in an SEC game since falling 45-33 to Texas A&M in the conference opener.

Auburn coach Bret Bielema has steadfastly opposed up-tempo football but wasn’t bothered by Auburn passing game. The Tigers didn’t have to pass as Tre Mason led the way on the ground. Auburn attempted only nine passes in the game. …

In what used to be the Game of the Century, odds-makers have Alabama as a double-digit favorite against LSU. For its part, LSU is hoping to spring an upset with its passing game. …

There’s demand for change in Gainesville. Sounds like they better get a little more organized.

The email may have been promoted by Pat Dooley’s column on what’s wrong with Florida in the wake of the Gators’ 23-20 loss to Georgia, their third-straight loss in a series that Florida dominated when Steve Spurrier was coach there.

While there may be issues in Gainesville, Georgia was glad to leave Jacksonville with a win. …

From Knoxville, Tennessee generated only three points in a 31-3 loss at Missouri, but Vols coach Butch Jones was pleased with the play of freshman quarterback Josh Dobbs, thrust into a starting role because of injury. Missouri rushed for 339 yards in the game and is expected to get its starting quarterback, James Franklin, back from a shoulder injury this week against Kentucky. …

    Ole Miss is favored by 17 points ‘gainst the Hogs. The Rebels should be able to put up lots of points on one of the worse defenses in the SEC.
