Feeding Moncrief

Donte Moncrief had little to say about his looming NFL decision earlier this week.

There has been some speculation that his production — better than average but below potential — might cause him to decide to return for his senior year at Ole Miss.

Two things about that. One, it appears Moncrief may be turning a corner and lining himself up for a big finish. That’s what happened last year when five of his 10 touchdown catches came in the last two games. In his last two SEC games Moncrief has 12 catches for 256 yards.

Two, NFL scouts don’t care much about your college stats, as draft analyst Tim Detillier tells us in this story.

From the Mother Ship, Moncrief’s decision.

Whatever Donte decides I wish him success. He’ll be a joy to watch on the next level. He has contributed greatly to the rise of Rebel Nation and the young men following him have had a shining example of how to be the best at wide receiver. Fortunately for Ole Miss, the stable is full of good receivers… now AND to come.
