More on the Saban to Texas rumors here, and from AL.com, columnist Kevin Scarbinsky says market value dictates that Saban is underpaid at Alabama.

In  Fox Sports report updated as recently as four hours ago, sources continue to say current Texas coach Mack Brown will resign by week’s end while the Texas administration continues to say no decision has been made.

This Bleacher Report piece was produced back in the summer but tackled the question of who would replace Nick Saban at Alabama if such a replacement was needed.

Saban’s defensive coordinator Kirby Smart makes the cut, but so does former USC coach Pete Carroll, now with the Seahawks. Can you see Ed Orgeron as defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the Tide? If Carroll to Tuscaloosa were to happen would that move be far behind? …

Bowling Green’s Dave Clawson has been named the next coach at Wake Forest. It wasn’t that long ago that Jim Grobe was a hot name, but he leaves Wake with five straight losing seasons. The Rebels caught Wake at its peak with losses in 2006 and 2008. …
