Nick Saban comments — be it ever so briefly — on why the addition of Lane Kiffin to his program works. Hard to imagine those personalities meshing.

Having Chris Kiffin’s brother coaching at Alabama and Alabama in need of a defensive line coach could have been a disturbing set of facts for Ole Miss.

It appears, though, that Alabama has found its new DL coach, an old one.

Former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron, who has a long history with Lane Kiffin, had also been rumored for the Alabama job.

LSU fans went into the 2013 season wondering about the status of running back Jeremy Hill who was plagued by legal problems. They will go into the 2014 season knowing they won’t have Hill, an underclassman, who declared for the draft just days before the deadline. Hill rushed for 1,401 yards and 16 touchdowns including 216 yards and two scores in the Tigers’ Outback Bowl win over Iowa. …

A four-star quarterback signee and once considered the successor to Cam Newton, Kiehl Frazier has left Auburn and will transfer to Division II Ouachita Baptist. …
