The Knoxville perspective here as Tennessee used its physical post presence to reestablish control in the Vols’ 86-70 win over Ole Miss last night. …

South Carolina, the Rebels’ next opponent, broke into the SEC win column in grand fashion with an 80-52 romp over Texas A&M in Columbia.

Ole Miss erased a 10-point deficit then held on to win 75-74 at South Carolina a couple of weeks back. The Gamecocks won’t get to Oxford threatening to take the lead in the standings, but they will come in more confident having won a conference game and with the confidence that they were very close to beating the Rebels not long ago.

Freshman Sindarius Thornwell played well against the Rebels and led the Chickens with 19 last night. …

Speaking of Texas A&M and South Carolina, they make the list of one of the top games to watch in 2014 … football games. Ole Miss mentioned twice. …

    Watched as much as I could stand last night on the computer….Andy has done a decent job with what he has had but I’ve never been a fan of a guard oriented basketball team….I don’t understand why Andy and staff don’t spend time developing a low post presence. If you’re going to get blown out by 20 why not at least see if you can get something inside. Jump shots equate to marginal success. The blueprint on how to handle Ole Miss hit the street last night and unless there is an effort to create by way of the post its going to get ugly as Ole Miss is done with the cupcakes….
