Trevor Releford scored 15 of Alabama’s last 16 points – none bigger than the 3-pointer from the key in the final seconds – when Alabama defeated Ole Miss 67-64 on Feb. 11 in Tuscaloosa.
The rematch is Wednesday night at 7 at Tad Smith Coliseum, and Ole Miss is trying to snap a four-game losing streak that began at Alabama.
Here’s what Rebels coach Andy Kennedy had to say about the Crimson Tide point guard on today’s SEC teleconference:
“I think he’s a first-team all-league player. Obviously they’ve had their ups and downs as we have all had, but had a few games gone the other way for Alabama he’d be in the conversation for MVP in the league. He’s had a terrific career. He’s been very steady and has really improved, which is a credit to Anthony (Grant) and his staff. He was always fast in the open floor, but his ability to develop his perimeter shooting and make perimeter shots has really made him a difficult cover.”
