Spanning the globe on a Monday morning …

What a difference a game could make. Ole Miss does indeed have the lead in the SEC West race with six games to go, but a win against Arkansas on Sunday could have provided some much-needed extra cushion.

Ole Miss is a game up on Mississippi State following its 11-1 loss. Last week it may have looked like the this weekend’s series against Georgia could be a bit of a breather. The Bulldogs, though, went on to win two of three against South Carolina. The Rebels will need to recover from an embarrassing loss quickly to keep the West lead.

Ole Miss finishes the SEC regular season at Texas A&M which now has won two-straight series including this weekend at home against LSU. According to WarrenNolan.com, the Aggies have more RPI top 50 wins than anyone in the division.

Speaking of the RPI, Nolan has Ole Miss at No. 11 after the Arkansas series. That’s slipping outside the range of a national seed, especially as Vanderbilt has surged to No. 5 in the RPI. Boyd’s World also has Ole Miss at 11. …

From Cleveland.com, the NFL draft begins Thursday. Here’s a look at possible “booms” vs. possible “busts” with good news for Donte Moncrief. This Minnesota Vikings blog calls Moncrief a “borderline” first round pick but says he has some issues to overcome, not unlike other analysis we’ve heard on Moncrief. …
