CWS Thursday Update

After a little hotel fruit basket turnover this morning, I’m now downtown and waiting on the Ole Miss’ 7 p.m. start against TCU.

The Rebels are eager for a better offensive showing than they’ve had in their first two games, but they are not alone in their struggle to score runs at TD Ameritrade Park.

The park’s difficulty on hitters has been an on-going conversation, and TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle had some unflattering remarks after the Horned Frogs’ 15-inning loss to Virginia. …

The Rebels will keep their regular pitching rotation for tonight’s game and will give the ball to Sam Smith. …

Also, John Gatlin’s walk-off hit to give the Rebels’ their first CWS win in five decades has made Gatlin the talk of his hometown. …

    Hey PA,
Do we know who’s starting pitching for TCU tonight?
and whats the status of their bullpen? I think they used 3 pitchers Tuesday night?
Thanks for the great coverage as always!

Sorry I missed you on this Giant. Saw it late but I did not hear a TCU starter announced either. Haven’t heard one for Virginia or Ole Miss. We’re reaching that point in the tournament where coaches can consider bringing back Game 1 starters.

        No Problem PA. Thanks!
