Tuesday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Tuesday morning …

Overheard at football practice last week regarding the Ole Miss track. Issues beneath the surface forced the track teams away from the facility last year. AD Ross Bjork says the track will be able to be rebuilt at its present site which is good news. The teams won’t have to move away from a very nice stadium, locker areas and offices that aren’t that old. Rebuilding the track will cost in the millions and won’t able to be done until construction of the arena is farther along because there are some part of the infrastructure that will tie in together, and because of location certain elements of the arena will have to be built first. …

Back to football. Old friends got together at Auburn on Monday …

While Ole Miss has unresolved jobs at center and slot receiver, there are places where quarterback is unresolved. It’s still a close race at LSU.

South Carolina QB Dylan Thompson could have transferred but stayed with the program. Now he has the confidence of Steve Spurrier who says he expects big things from his new starter. …

On the subject of quarterbacks, there’s news coming from Ohio State that if true could change the season for the No. 5-ranked Buckeyes and not in a good way. …
