Kiffin talks DL, Nkemdiche’s progress

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze talked about the maturity sophomore DT Robert Nkemdiche earlier in the week, and DL coach Chris Kiffin continued that theme on Friday.

Kiffin had high praise for Nkemdiche, saying, “I think the world is going to be really surprised when they see him play on Thursday night. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t take over the game from a 3-technique standpoint. I think he’s that good.”

He talks about a lot more including overall depth, pass rush and the solid camp of senior Bryon Bennett. Good stuff here too on the progress of the freshmen.

Kiffin says there’s a big difference between Nkemdiche now and Nkemdiche a year ago.

“Last year in the Vanderbilt game he bull-rushed every single snap, and Matt Millen was on TV saying, ‘Can somebody tell this kid to rush half a man?’ He had no idea.”
